Arizona Secondary Entities – which includes public school districts, public charter schools and private non-profit charter schools are eligible to apply for the Strengthening Career and Technical Education for the 21st Century Act (Perkins V) Grant. The process for becoming eligible to apply for a Federal "Perkins V" Grant is outlined below:
The entity must plan to operate at least one “approvable” Career and Technical Education (CTE) program using their own funding sources for a minimum of one year and provide career exploration anytime in grades 5-9.

CAREER AND TECHNICAL STUDENT ORGANIZATION Per federal Perkins V - The term ‘‘career and technical student organization’’ means an organization for individuals enrolled in a career and technical education program that engages in career and technical education activities as an integral part of the instructional program.
